OpenDomain.name is built with privacy in mind. We collect only what's necessary to run the service and never sell your data to third parties.

What we collect

If you use OpenDomain.name without signing in, we collect nothing. No tracking, no cookies, no analytics.

If you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — used to identify your account and send magic link sign-in emails.
• Name and profile picture — pulled from Google if you sign in with Google.
• Search history — the domain names you search, stored so you can revisit them. You can delete this at any time.

DNS queries

Domain availability is checked by querying Cloudflare's public DNS over HTTPS service at cloudflare-dns.com. These queries contain only the domain name being checked and are subject to Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not log or store these queries on our servers.

How we store data

Account data and search history are stored in Supabase, a hosted database platform. Data is stored in the United States. Supabase encrypts data at rest and in transit.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie set by Supabase to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Affiliate links

When you click a registrar link, we may earn a commission. We do not share your personal information with registrars. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Your rights

You can delete your search history at any time from within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us and we'll remove everything within 30 days.

Children

OpenDomain.name is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of OpenDomain.name after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
